Hi, I'm Veca, a non speaker turned teacher of the norsk.

As a result, I've been torturing adults with Norwegian grammar since 2009. Grown adults. People who survived careers, kids, and entire lives in other countries — and then walked into MY classroom and met the vocal U. I love this job because I know what language means when you're starting over somewhere new. It's not just grammar — it's your key to everything. Your job, your neighbours, your new life. I've been there. I get it. And that's exactly why I will never, ever stop correcting your vocal U. My teaching style? Tough love. Think personal trainer, but for your mouth. I will not let you give up. We suffer together — and then one day, suddenly, it clicks.

Fun fact: After nearly 18 years of teaching Norwegian, I still pause to double-check the consonants in akkurat. Every. Single. Time.

​Helping people find their voice in Norwegian — one conversation, laugh, and “aha!” moment at a time. Nancy has spent many years teaching both children and adults, with a special focus on adult learners since 2017. She’s passionate about creating a warm and encouraging classroom where students feel confident, challenged, and excited to grow. For Nancy, learning a language should never feel boring — it should feel alive, meaningful, and fun. Nothing makes her happier than seeing her students go from hesitant beginners to confident Norwegian speakers.

Fun fact: Nancy has also written a children’s book about living in a suitcase.
